^The story behind this photo is not what you would expect. Sure Daniel Norrad and I could say we were attempting a level 5 mud-hole and got stuck, but no... I had the horrible idea to take a photo of our rigs together in a "Offroad" environment and man do I regret that...
^One of my favorite spots to stop on the way to Hot Springs, no matter what time of year it is, this spot is always beautiful.
^This photo shows that mapping trails for OnX is not a simple task. It actually involves a lot of pre run planning, strategic photo placements, and post GPX editing and photo editing. Good thing Trailside Coffee was there to supply us with the energy we needed.
^ @awdseth on instagram really put his Bronco to the test this weekend. With the near miss of rolling his vehicle he decided to test his gear even more. Hot Springs Off Road Park offers a play area that has a tabletop for people to jump. Now most might think its for SxS, but not Seth. Seth without hesitation jumped his Bronco full force and really tested his suspension. To say the least, it survived and really put the Toyotas to shame.
Weekend Ramble: Razorback Style
There are weekends that feel like a quick escape, and then there are weekends like Razorback Ramble—where everything from the drive to the dirt under your tires feels like it’s right out of a dream.
The event took place at the Hot Springs Off-Road Park in (you guessed it) Hot Springs, Arkansas. I rolled out from Bentonville early Friday, and man... that drive. Winding through the national forest with the windows down and the sun cutting through the trees—absolutely stunning. It’s one of those drives where you don’t even want to turn on music because the scenery is enough to keep you company.
Once I got to the park, it just kept getting better. The staff at Hot Springs Off-Road Park? Top-notch. Friendly, helpful, and they clearly care about the place. The trails are all super well-marked too, which is such a game-changer when you're trying to figure out your plan for the day. No guesswork, just good signage and clean trails.
Saturday was technically a workday—we were out there with OnX Offroad, mapping some trails for the app. But let’s be real, when your "job" involves wheeling through the woods, it’s hard to complain. I was out there with another OnX Trail Guide and his buddy, who brought a seriously built-out Bronco. Naturally, we had to throw it into something spicy, so we hit a five-star trail called Box Canyon.
That trail… wow. Things got real sketchy for a second. Almost flipped the Bronco and came way too close to taking out a couple trees. Adrenaline was high, but we made it through in one piece—and in true celebratory fashion, we found a spot and jumped the Bronco afterward. Because why not?
On the gear side of things, this weekend was a great testing ground. I finally got to put our new Starlink Mini kit through its paces and was seriously impressed. It worked flawlessly and sipped power like it was on a diet. As for the 4Runner—beast mode. It took everything I threw at it without flinching. We even had time to squeeze in some solid wheeling with friends and hang out with the rest of the Ramble crowd.
Now, I’d love to say the weekend was perfect, but let’s just say one mud hole decided to baptize the inside of my 4Runner. Took on a bit too much water and cleaning it out was a mess, but hey—that’s part of the game, right?
All in all, Razorback Ramble was one for the books. Gorgeous drive, fun trails, great people, and a few stories I’ll be telling for a while. Even with a soggy 4Runner interior, I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.
